Aquaponics is a system of growing plants, vegetables and fish in harmony. In the summer of 2023, friends from Keystone Community Church in Ada, Michigan came to build and install the system right on the land at NEGHEC! They passed the torch of maintaining the aquaponics system to a local specialist named Goffin Onenrwoth, who happens to be newly married to Scovia Onenrwoth, who is an integral part of the center. Scovia is Dr. Betty's niece and does all the planting, harvesting cooking, all the things too numerous to mention!

The girls who live at the centre are hands-on harvesters and also help to prepare the food to serve the others and their children. They work hard! The addition of greens and fish to their regular diet is providing enormous health benefits all around.
